Endgame - hall

BSG progress Weissenfels - SC Empor Rostock 5: 3

The final turned out to be a one-sided event, as the Weißenfels players were overwhelmingly superior. With rational and risk-free actions, the SC Empor was safely controlled over the entire duration of the game. A quick 2-0 lead through goals by Inge Schanding brought the necessary security into the ranks of the BSG Progress, with long hold of the ball the Rostock women were taken away from the game. She played a big part in this, because they played too much, their attackers suffered from bad play and the long throws were too unplaced. Weißenfels was in possession of the ball for a good two thirds of the game, and for 30 minutes the Rostock players made no effort to effectively disrupt the flow of the opponent. It was only in the last ten minutes that the women from the Baltic Sea rallied themselves to risk more and managed to score two goals. It was too late to turn the game around by then. The BSG Progress Weissenfels came to their fifth indoor championship with confidence and safety.

Endgame - field

(October 6, 1963)

BSG Progress Weissenfels - SC DHfK Leipzig 7: 4

Progress Weissenfels successfully defended its previous year's title and made the double indoor and field championship perfect. The triumph of the Weißenfelserinnen was not certain for a long time. Especially in the first half, the DHfK players, who were in a handball final for the first time, were able to stand up to the favorites. They appeared with a well-staggered defense in which the Weißenfels attackers were consistently neutralized. They scored the first goal quickly, but unimpressed by this, the DHfK players remembered their own throwing qualities and scored the 2-1 lead after twelve minutes. Although Weißenfels was able to fight for a 3-2 lead by the half-time whistle, the defending champion's playful deficiencies were obvious. The beginning of the second half of the game was marked by lost opportunities on both sides. After Leipzig equalized again in the 27th minute, the Weißenfels leaders around Inge Schandig finally tore the game to themselves and consequently extended this lead after the 4: 3 in the 30th minute. In the end, the routine of the master players decided the final.
