Hanna Wassylenko
Hanna Wiktoriwna Wassylenko ( Ukrainian Ганна Вікторівна Василенко , also Anna Wasilenko ; born February 21, 1986 ) is a Ukrainian wrestler . She became world champion in 2011 and European champion in 2012 in the weight class up to 59 kg.
Career
Hanna Wassylenko started wrestling as a teenager in 2001. She is a student and belongs to the Dynamo Kiev sports club . Your most important trainers were or are Ignat Georgievich and Andrei Panaitow. The 1.63 meter tall athlete first competed in the weight class up to 63 kg and has been wrestling in the weight class up to 59 kg, which is not Olympic, since 2009. If she wants to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she must either train in the weight class up to 55 kg or start again in the weight class up to 63 kg. In both weight classes, however, she has very big competitors in the Ukraine in Natalja Sinischin and in Julija Ostaptschuk .
Hanna Wassylenko began her international career at the 2005 European Junior Championships in Wrocław , where she immediately won the title in the weight class up to 63 kg. At the Junior World Championships in Guatemala City in 2006 , she came third in the weight class up to 59 kg behind Larissa Kanajewa, Russia and Jaqueline Renteria from Colombia .
In 2007 she started for the first time in an international championship for women. She came in 3rd place at the European Championships in Sofia . She lost there after three fights in the semifinals against Stefanie Stüber from Germany and won a bronze medal in the consolation round with a victory over Agoro Papavasiliou from Greece .
Her next start at an international championship took place again at the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark in the weight class up to 59 kg. Here, too, she initially won three fights, only to be defeated in the semifinals against Agata Pietrzyk from Poland . She then won the bronze medal by defeating Katie Patroch from Canada .
At the 2010 European Championships in Baku , Hanna Wassylenko was not in good shape and lost to Tajbe Jusein from Bulgaria and Natalja Smirnowa from Russia and therefore only came in 8th place. At this year's World Cup, it was not used at all. In 2011, however, she returned to the road to success. She first won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Dortmund . However, her defeat against Georgiana Narcisa Paic from Romania in the semifinals came as a surprise. She secured the bronze medal by defeating Adelina Vescan from France.
The 2011 World Championships in Istanbul became the highlight of her career so far . There she won over Amanda Gerhart from Canada, Chen Yang from the People's Republic of China and Sona Ahmadli from Azerbaijan and was thus in the final battle against Sofia Mattsson from Sweden . In this fight she managed a narrow point victory over the Swedes (2: 0 rounds at 2: 2 and 2: 1 points), with which she became world champion in the weight class up to 59 kg body weight.
In 2012 she won her next title at the European Championships in Belgrade . On the way there she defeated Sona Ahmadli, Mirjana Martinovic, Montenegro , Nadezhda Michalkowa, Belarus and Anastasija Grigorjeva , Latvia . Since the weight class in which she was ranked was not Olympic in 2012, she had to try to qualify for the games in the weight class up to 63 kg, but she did not succeed.
Hanna Wassylenko remained active until 2016. During these years she won bronze medals twice at international championships. 2013 in Tbilisi in the weight class up to 63 kg and 2016 in Riga in the weight class up to 60 kg body weight. For participation in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, however, she was again unable to qualify.
