Sorondsonboldyn Battsetseg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sorondsonboldyn Battsetseg ( Mongolian Соронзонболдын Батцэцэг , born May 3, 1990 ) is a Mongolian wrestler . In 2010 she became world champion in the weight class up to 59 kg and in 2015 in the weight class up to 63 kg.

Career

Sorondsonboldyn Battsetseg started wrestling as a teenager in 2005. She is a member of the Dsamchin wrestling club and has been trained by the former world-class wrestler Dsewegiin Düwtschin since 2006 . At a height of 1.67 meters, she started in the weight class up to 59 kg and since 2011 in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight.

Since 2007 she has contested several international championships in the junior division. The best results she achieved were winning the Asian Junior Women’s Championship in 2009 in Manila and the two 2nd places at the 2007 Asian Junior Championship (Cadets) in Taichung / Taiwan and at the 2008 Asian Junior Championship in Doha , both in the weight class up to 59 kg.

In 2009 she started in Herning / Denmark for the first time at a world championship for women. But she lost her first fight there against Hanna Wassylenko from Ukraine , with which she was eliminated and only finished 16th. In 2010 she was Asian champion in New Delhi, ahead of Liu Fengming from China and Yurika Ito from Japan . In the same year she started for the last time at a junior world championship. In Budapest she came in 5th place after a defeat against Zhang Lan , China, a victory over Tatjana Padilla , United States and a defeat against Kanako Murata from Japan. This year it was used by the Mongolian Wrestling Association at the World Championships in Moscow . There she surprised the entire professional world in the weight class up to 59 kg and was won over Tonya Verbeek from Canada , Joice Souza da Silva from Brazil , Ayako Shōda from Japan, against whom she narrowly won (2: 1 rounds with 8: 8 points ) Was lucky and Zhang Lan, against whom she successfully took revenge for the loss at the Junior World Championship, world champion.

In 2011 Battsetseg moved to the weight class up to 63 kg, could not prevail in this class in Mongolia against Otschirbatyn Nasanburmaa and therefore did not appear in international championships. The Mongolian Wrestling Association will probably decide at short notice whether she or Otschirbatyn Nasanburmaa will be used at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This decided for her. Sorondsonboldyn Battsetseg justified this trust. She won in London over Sylvie Michelle Datty Ngonga Tara Agoue, CAF and Anastasija Grigorjeva , Latvia, then lost to multiple world champion Kaori Icho and then secured a bronze medal in the consolation round with a victory over former world champion Martine Dugrenier , Canada .

In July 2013 Battsetseg won the Universiade in Kazan and two months later she became vice world champion in Budapest, both times in the weight class up to 63 kg. In Budapest she defeated Nathaly Josefina Griman Herrera, Venezuela, the defending champion Elena Piroschkowa from the United States, Maria Diana from Italy and Anastasija Bratschikowa from Russia. In the final, however, she had no chance against Kaori Icho.

The 2014 World Championships in Tashkent did not bring a satisfactory result for Battsetseg, as it only came 9th in the weight category up to 63 kg after defeating Rio Watari from Japan and losing to Elena Piroschkova from the United States and Anastasija Grigorjeva.

At the 2015 World Cup in Las Vegas, she managed to become world champion for the second time in her career. In the weight class up to 63 kg she defeated Gabriella Sleisz from Hungary, Buse Tosun from Turkey, Anastasija Grigorjeva, Tajbe Jusein from Bulgaria and Risako Kawai from Japan.
