Hans-Dieter Handrack (born May 10, 1942 in Gotenhafen ) is a German historian.

Life

Handrack attended elementary schools in Ihrhove and Bad Aibling and the Ignaz-Günther-Gymnasium in Rosenheim. After graduating from high school, he began to study history at the Georg-August University in Göttingen in the winter semester of 1961/62 . In November 1961 he became active in the Curonia Goettingensis and reciprocated on July 25, 1962 . In the winter semester of 1963/64 he moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and finished his studies there in 1970. Professionally, he went into adult education , initially for 7 years after Gensungen at the local folk high school there. In July 1975 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . 1977–1979 he headed the adult education center in Halle (Westphalia) . Then he was director of the Goethe Institute in Lahore , Pakistan for three years . 1983–1987 he headed the development policy department at the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Munich . From 1987 to 1989, he headed the International Management Training Center in Riedenburg for the Bavarian Business School . From 1990 to 2001 he was head of the cultural department at the Federation of Expellees . After that he worked as a freelancer. He deals with the social and political importance of student associations for the Baltic states . He is married to a Russian Uzbek, the daughter of Niyozali Kholmatov .
