Hans-Jürgen Albers (born October 21, 1943 in Ramsbeck ) is a German economist , educator and university professor as well as long-time rector of the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education .

Life

Hans-Jürgen Albers was born in Ramsbeck in the Sauerland . After attending elementary school and completing an apprenticeship, he obtained the Abitur on the second educational path in 1968. There ensued a degree in economics , social psychology and business education at the universities of Göttingen and Cologne , which he in Cologne as a diploma commercial teacher graduated 1,972th He remained at the university as a research assistant and received his doctorate. He completed his doctorate in 1975 as Dr. rer. pole. in Cologne. In the following year he switched to the University of Stuttgart as a research assistant , where he successfully completed his habilitation in 1982 .

He accepts a position as professor for economics and business didactics at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd and at the same time remains as a private lecturer at the University of Stuttgart . In 1989 he was appointed associate professor at the university. From 1991 to 1994 Albers took over the chairmanship of the German Society for Economic Education . From 2002 to 2010 he was Rector of the University of Education in Schwäbisch Gmünd . He retired on March 31, 2010.

Research and teaching focus

In his teaching, Albers is primarily concerned with general economics, economics, economic systems, the targeted use of computers in business classes, as well as vocational preparation and career choices for students. In research, he focuses on ethics and economic education. It deals with globalization and its effects on economy and education as well as with economic education and general education in general. He also conducts research in the field of business didactics in general and the development of teaching / learning materials for business education.
