Hans Dreger

Hans Dreger (born November 21, 1904 in Tübingen ; † May 20, 1981 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) was a German specialist in German studies , educator and university professor .

Life

Dreger studied classical philology and German and was a scholarship holder of the Prussian Academy of Sciences . His doctorate as Dr. phil. took place in 1930 at the University of Tübingen with the work The Origin of Subjectivism and the rebirth of individuality in Sturm und Drang. After years as a research assistant , lecturer at the University for Teacher Education Esslingen from 1938 to 1941 and the subsequent military service , he initially worked at secondary schools . From 1954 he was a lecturer in Schwäbisch Gmünd at the Pedagogical Institute. When it was converted to the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education in 1962, he was Professor of Sociology and Politics there from 1963 and also Vice-Rector from 1962 to 1965 and Rector of the University from 1965 to 1968 . Then until 1970 he was head of the Realschullehrer-Institut there. In 1979 he was made an honorary citizen of the PH Schwäbisch Gmünd.

He was buried in Esslingen am Neckar .

Dreger is considered a student of Gustav Bebermeyer . After his retirement he wrote the manuscript Memories of Prof. Dr. for the university archive in Tübingen. Gustav Bebermeyer , in which he occasionally deals critically with this scientist.
