Hans-Jürgen Jaeger

Hans-Jürgen Jaeger (born January 23, 1931 in Berlin ; † September 18, 2013 in Schliersee ) was a German lawyer , lawyer and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After attending schools in Berlin, Magdeburg , Cologne and Munich and graduating from the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich in 1950 , Jaeger studied law and economics at the universities in Munich .

After the first state examination, he went to Ann Arbor , Michigan, and after three semesters there earned a Master of Laws in 1957 . During his training, he worked in the United States as a waiter and tour guide. After returning to Germany, he completed his legal clerkship and passed the second state examination in 1959.

In March 1960 he entered the higher service of the Deutsche Bundesbahn . In the following years he worked in the transport department of the Munich Federal Railway Directorate and for a long time was the Federal Railway Director and head of the general agency in Munich-North. After leaving the service of the Federal Railroad in 1978, he settled as a lawyer in Munich.

Hans-Jürgen Jaeger was married and had three children.

Jaeger, who had already joined the Liberal University Group at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 1950 , joined the FDP in 1952 and was City Councilor of Munich from 1966 to 1970. In 1970 he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1982. From 1974 to 1976 he was first deputy chairman and from 1976 to 1982 chairman of the FDP parliamentary group . Until his death he was honorary chairman of the FDP district association Miesbach .
