Hans-Peter Kröger

Hans-Peter Kröger (born March 17, 1953 in Kaköhl ) is a German firefighter . From 2003 to 2015 he was President of the German Fire Brigade Association (DFV).

education and profession

After completing the higher commercial school , Kröger completed advanced training for the higher service in the social insurance subject at the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse (AOK) for the Plön district . Until 1994 he then acted as managing director of AOK Plön. In 1994 he became the managing director of an employment company, but in 1995 he switched to the BÄKO Schleswig-Holstein Bäcker- und Konditorengenossenschaft eG as a managing board member . There he retired on March 21, 2016 due to old age.

Career

In 1970 Kröger became a member of the volunteer fire department . 1978 to 1986 he was military leader of the Blekendorf community and 1992 to 2004 military leader of the Plön district. In 1994 he was elected Vice-President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Fire Brigade Association and a member of the Presidium of the German Fire Brigade Association. In 1999 he was elected Vice President and in 2003 finally President of the German Fire Brigade Association. He pushed the association's move from Bonn to Berlin and in 2008 set up a liaison office for the association in Brussels . His last term of office ended on December 31, 2015 when he was appointed Honorary President of the German Fire Brigade Association.

In 2000 he was the founder of the Foundation Help for Helpers to support firefighters in coping with particularly stressful experiences in action and has also been Chairman of the Foundation since then . In addition, from 2003 to 2015 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for the Promotion of the German Fire Brigade Museum in Fulda .
