Hans Ernst Gotthilf Friedrich Carl Graf von Carmer-Zieserwitz (born September 20, 1861 at Gut Panzkau (Pęczków), Neumarkt district , Lower Silesia ; † October 11, 1922 at Zieserwitz estate (Cesarzowice), Neumarkt district) was a German politician and general landscape director of Province of Silesia .

Carmer was a son of the Silesian landowner Hans Friedrich Graf von Carmer-Zieserwitz and his wife Marie von Elsner. After attending the Knight's Academy in Liegnitz, he studied law and political science at the universities of Breslau, Strasbourg, Bonn and Leipzig . In 1882 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . As a court assessor a. D. he succeeded his father in the administration of the Zieserwitz family estate. In the Prussian military he reached the rank of major .

As a politician, Carmer was General Landscape Director of the Province of Silesia and, as the successor to his friend Friedrich zu Limburg-Stirum, he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1905 to 1913 and of the Reichstag from 1907 to 1918 . Around 1910 he was curator of the Liegnitz Knights Academy and the St. Johannis-Stift zu Liegnitz. He was also a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

Marriage and offspring

Carmer married on February 29, 1904 in Jagsthausen in the district of Heilbronn Charlotte Elise Anna Julie Freiin von Berlichingen , the daughter of the royal Württemberg chamberlain and landowner Ernst Freiherr von Berlichingen and Elisabeth Freiin Truchseß von Wetzhausen .
