Hans Gruber (pedagogue)
Hans Gruber (born August 24, 1960 in Bobingen ) is a German educationalist and chess composer . He teaches as a professor at the University of Regensburg and was chairman of the German Association for Problem Chess from 2006 to 2014 . He has also received awards as a zither interpreter and is a long-distance runner.
Live and act
Scientific career
Gruber studied psychology, education and literature at the University of Munich and received his doctorate in 1991. In 1998 he completed his habilitation in Munich and in the same year became Professor of Education at the University of Regensburg. In 2000 he was given one of the chairs there for general pedagogy . In 2002 he was appointed to the chair for educational psychology and empirical education at the LMU Munich as the successor to Heinz Mandl . Although he had already received his certificate of appointment from the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Culture from State Minister Hans Zehetmair, he refused the offer. Since 2007 Gruber has been visiting professor and other roles in the Faculty of Education at the University of Turku in Finland. Gruber is (as of 2015) President of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI).
In 2015 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Turku.
