Hans Hemes

Hans Hemes (born April 2, 1890 in Geisenheim , † January 20, 1963 in Berlin ) was a German actor , radio play speaker and lyricist .

Life

Hans Hemes was the son of the resident Johann Hemes and his wife Katharina. After attending secondary school , he initially worked as a journalist . From 1908 he was a member of the ensemble at the Stadttheater in Bonn and from 1927 engagements at various stages in Berlin can be recorded.

From 1933 on he worked in various film productions, often in supporting roles . Among them were the 1938 entertainment film Five Million Looking for an Heir by Carl Boese with Heinz Rühmann , Leny Marenbach and Oskar Sima and in the same year the crime film Mordsache Holm by Erich Engels with Walter Steinbeck , Harald Paulsen and Hans Leibelt . In 1942 he was in the feature film The Great Shadow by Paul Verhoeven with Heinrich George , Heidemarie Hatheyer and Will Quadflieg . He also worked as a speaker in several radio plays .

Hans Hemes continued to work as a lyricist for many folk songs. He was also responsible for the text of the sailor's song Am Kai near the old lantern , composed by Ernst Kallipke.
