Hans von Blumenthal (officer)
Hans August von Blumenthal , since 1786 Count von Blumenthal , (born February 12, 1722 in Horst in der Prignitz , † December 7, 1788 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant colonel , commander of the Garde du Corps regiment and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .
Life
origin
He was a member of the Brandenburg noble family von Blumenthal . His parents were Budget Minister Adam Ludwig von Blumenthal (1691–1760) and his first wife Sophia Ester, née von Hoym (1697–1733) from the Poblotz family.
Military career
Blumenthal came in 1737 as an ensign in the Dragoon Regiment "Möllendorf" in Insterburg . In 1740 he joined the Garde du Corps as a lieutenant . He rose further and became a captain in 1742 and commander of the regiment on September 20, 1747 . He became major and in June 1755 a lieutenant colonel. In the same year King Friedrich II granted him an allowance of 500 thalers. During the Seven Years' War he was so badly injured in the Battle of Lobositz in 1756 that he had to say goodbye .
He then became chief steward to Prince Friedrich Heinrich Karl of Prussia . After his sudden death he commuted between his estates and Berlin. In the homage of Friedrich Wilhelm II. On October 2, 1786, he was with his descendants in the count conditions raised . He was the master of Horst, Blumenthal, Paretz, Pretschen, Winmannsdorff and Ziegenhagen.

On April 15, 1761, Blumenthal married Countess Ulrike Amalie von Wartensleben (1741–1808), a daughter of General Leopold Alexander von Wartensleben . The couple had the following children:
