In May 2016, the intention was agreed with the Vard Group to build two ships for expedition trips. On August 16, 2016, the Hanseatic inspiration was commissioned together with its sister ship Hanseatic nature .
The construction of the ship with the hull number 871 began on October 5, 2017 Vard Tulcea in Romania's Tulcea . The keel was laid on October 19 . On February 9, 2019, the Hanseatic inspiration was launched into the water with a ship lift . Immediately afterwards, the ship was towed to Vard Langsten in the Norwegian Tomrefjord for completion with the tug Diavlos Force . The ship was delivered on October 1, 2019.

On October 11, 2019, the Hanseatic inspiration was christened by the sailor Laura Dekker at the Hamburg Überseebrücke and put into service by the shipping company. The ship was then moved to Antwerp and started its maiden voyage from there .

The facilities of the Hanseatic inspiration are designed for up to 230 passengers and are spread over seven decks :
Deck 3: On-board hospital and a "Marina" for the "Zodiacs"
Deck 4: restaurants, boutique, multifunctional room / lounge for lectures and entertainment events, as well as cabins (including barrier-free cabins)
