Haplogroup L is a haplogroup of the Y chromosome in human genetics .

origin

This haplogroup is closely related to South Asia . It has also been found at low density among populations in Central Asia , Southwest Asia , North Africa, and Southern Europe along the coast of the Mediterranean . It is believed that it originated from haplogroup K (Y-DNA) 30,000 years ago .

Subgroups

  • L (M11, M20, M22, M61 / Page43, M185)
    • L * Europe from Ireland to Eastern Europe
    • L1 (M295) Western Europe to South Asia
