Origin and distribution of the haplogroup 'K' on the Y chromosome .

Haplogroup K is a haplogroup of the Y chromosome in human genetics . This haplogroup comes from haplogroup F (M89). Their successors are L (M20), M (P256), NO (M214) (and their descendants N and O), P (M45) (and their descendants Q and R), S (M230) and T (M70). The haplogroups K1, K2, K3 and K4 are only found in low density on the Indian subcontinent, the Malaysian archipelago, Oceania and Australia . Haplogroup K (xLT) included the so-called Ust-Ischim-Mann (after the place of the same name in Siberia), but whose genetic line is extinct.

Subgroups

The subgroups of haplogroup K with their distinguishing mutation:

The 2008 family tree redistributes the haplogroup , in contrast to the 2006 ISOGG family tree. The former subgroups K2 and K5 have been renamed haplogroup T and haplogroup S. The old subgroups K1 and K7 were designated as new subgroups M2 and M3 and thus assigned to haplogroup M (Y-DNA) . The former subgroups K3, K4 and K6 were renamed to K1, K2 and K3.
