Over the past few years, the “Harvesser Ring” development area has gradually emerged, with the traditional structures being retained. They are conveniently located in terms of traffic, namely almost directly on the Peine – Gifhorn thoroughfare. About one kilometer north of Harvesse is the Hungerkampsee .

history

The oldest documentary evidence dates back to 1160. Harvesse - 1160 Herwardessen - was given to the Riddagshausen monastery by Count Ludolf von Peine in 1160 and remained in its possession until 1840.

A church is already mentioned in the first documentary mention. Today's Harvesser Church dates from 1867/68.

On September 5, 1840, the Harvesse monastery was sold by the Riddagshausen monastery to the residents for 6,000 thalers. With that the Harvessers became free owners of their land and the mediaeval conditions and circumstances came to an end.

From around 1900 the expansion of the place began. Now the actual "Mitteldorf" and after 1912 the first houses of the "Oberdorf" were built.

On March 1, 1974, Harvesse was incorporated into the Wendeburg community.

coat of arms

Three distinctive oaks in Harvesse are united in the local coat of arms to form a three-leaved silver oak branch in a red shield: the Luther oak, planted in 1883 for the 400th birthday of Martin Luther, the Wilhelms oak, which was planted on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I in 1887 and the anniversary oak planted in 1960 for the 800th anniversary. The two acorns symbolize the community between Oberdorf and Unterdorf. The wave band is the Aue / Erse as the western border of the district. The red and white coloring refers to the Riddagshausen monastery as a landowner for centuries, from whom the local community bought itself free in the 19th century. The coat of arms was at the 825th anniversary celebrations, 2nd – 5th May 1985, publicly presented and decided on October 8, 1985 by the administrative committee of the Wendeburg community. Design: Kurt Bratmann / Wilhelm Krieg.
