Life

Von Beverfoerde was born in the Sauerland . She attended German and international schools and graduated from the Kloster Wald home school , a Catholic boarding school for girls. After training as a European secretary in Brussels , she studied business administration in Bielefeld and Münster . After graduating with a degree in business administration, she temporarily worked as a marketing assistant in Dülmen. She is married, the mother of three children and lives with her family in Magdeburg . Her husband Josef (* 1960) from the Elverfeldt family called von Beverfoerde zu Werries is the owner of a scaffolding company (Bever) in Magdeburg. After the marriage she initially worked as an assistant to the sales director of a stock corporation in Magdeburg. After 1993 she stopped working and got involved in the civic, political and Catholic areas.

Political commitment

Until December 2016, von Beverfoerde was a member of the CDU and on the district board of the CDU Jerichower Land . She began her engagement in Saxony-Anhalt with a (successful) protest against the concept of the “elementary school with fixed opening times” and the associated referendum. She was a co-founder of the nationwide citizens' initiative Family Protection, which campaigned against "the appropriation of children beyond the classroom". Among other things, the initiative supports childcare allowance . Von Beverfoerde, together with Beatrix von Storch ( AfD ), coordinated the family-policy conservative demonstration for everyone who spoke out against the 2015 education plan of the green-red state government of Baden-Württemberg . It also achieved considerable mobilization in Baden-Württemberg. She is also a member of the conservative lay organization Forum Deutscher Katholiken .

At the citizens' initiative family protection , according to their own information part of the civil coalition , and the online medium Die Freie Welt von Beverfoerde works with Sven von Storch on the editorial advisory board. She also became known through talk show appearances.

Von Beverfoerde supported with her signature the controversial appeal by Carlo Maria Viganò of May 7th, 2020 with the Latin title “Veritas liberabit vos!” ( The truth will set you free , according to Joh 8,32  EU ), which is published on the internet portal kathisch.de of the German Bishops' Conference as a “conglomerate of conspiracy myths and pseudoscience”.

Controversies 2015

Von Beverfoerde rejects the legal equality of same-sex civil partnerships with marriage . The LGBT network “Enough is Enough! Open your mouth! ”Accused Beverfoerde of regular campaigns, petitions and demonstrations in the area and criticized her with the negative award of“ Miss Homophobia ”at the end of 2015 as one of the“ most active representatives of fear and hatred towards lesbians and gays in Germany ”. In December 2015, Beverfoerde's portrayal in the play Fear by director Falk Richter became the subject of a legal dispute. In the complex and multimedia work, pictures of her such as Beatrix von Storch were shown alongside those by Anders Behring Breivik and Beate Zschäpe . Von Beverfoerde first obtained an injunction against the production at the Berlin Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz , but this was rejected. The Schaubühne was initially allowed to perform the play unchanged. In 2018, changes were implemented from other sources.

She herself blames the play indirectly for an arson attack in the courtyard of her family business, which took place a few days after the play premiered. According to press reports, a VW bus that was also in use during the demonstrations burned out. The property damage was estimated by the police at up to 80,000 euros, the state security took over the investigation.
