Heiner Behring

Heiner Behring (also: Heinrich and Heinrich Wilhelm Behring ; * 1957 ) is a German screenwriter , film director , film producer and university professor .

Life

After graduating from school and training as an industrial clerk at Kali Chemie in Hanover , Heiner Behring also studied German, history and philosophy at the then university in the capital of Lower Saxony .

Parallel to his studies, Behring worked from 1986 to 1989 as the head of the video studio at the Hanover Music School . During this time he also wrote his master's thesis on the subject of continuities and breaks between Nazi film and German post-war film, illustrated by the film aesthetics of selected examples . From 1988 to 1992 he also worked as an editor for the film magazine filmwärts . but also realized, for example, television contributions for the broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). In addition, he wrote - similar to Peter Stettner - as co-author of the publication accompanying the exhibition in the Theater am Aegi under the title Lichtspielträume. Cinema in Hanover 1896–1991 . In 1993 he received his doctorate on German post-war film under the title Collective Day Dreams - The Aesthetics of German Post-War Film 1945–1949 .

From September 1993 to February 1996 Heiner Behring worked in Ludwigsburg as an artistic-scientific assistant at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy .

From March 1996 to September 1998 Behring worked as a freelance writer and director, producing documentary , business and short fiction films .

In October 1998 Behring was initially appointed professor for video and audio production at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and teaches media production and media theory at the Faculty of Media and Information Science.

Heiner Behring lives in Freiburg im Breisgau . Together with Götz Gruner , he has already organized the annual Shorts film festival in Offenburg several times .
