His father Hans Luz managed the Luz + Partner office founded by Karl Luz in 1906. His brother Christof Luz has been running this independently as Luz Landschaftsarchitektur since 1998. His second brother, Frieder Luz, has been teaching at the Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences since 1994 . His sister works as a freelance costume designer in Stuttgart .

On the use of plants, Heiner Luz published various essays on the principle of aspect builders and gave numerous lectures as a speaker at home and abroad.

philosophy

When designing, it is important for Heiner Luz to consider the creative , ecological and functional-user principles of open space planning equally. Based on family tradition, his designs have a strict structure of plant and built elements. Freely developing plantings are placed in the structure. The selection of plants and other design elements is based on the rule of "uniformity on a large scale, diversity on a small scale". This gives the designs a clear and concise appearance. The type and extent of maintenance are incorporated into the designs.
