Sacred buildings

St. Joseph, Duisburg - Wedau (1961–1962)

An early building of Thomas is the mother house of the Elisabeth sisters in Essen-Schuir , which was inaugurated in 1936.

In the 1950s, Thoma designed the churches of St. Maria Hilfe der Christisten in Lörick , in 1955 the monastery with the remarkable monastery church of St. Antonius of the Franciscan Order in the middle of downtown Düsseldorf, which was decided to be demolished in 2014, and St. Jakobus in Oberhausen-Osterfeld. A little later, the church of St. Joseph in Wattenscheid, built in 1961 and now a listed building , followed (heavily modified in 2007) as well as the new construction and co-design of the interior of the church of St. Joseph in Duisburg - Wedau, built between 1961 and 1962 . In 1984 he also led the restoration of the St. Lambertus Church in Kalkum . The St. Hedwig Church in Düsseldorf-Eller , which Thoma designed together with Hans Geiser in the 1970s , has meanwhile been profaned and converted into a senior citizens' center.
