Helmut Lehmann (mechanical engineer)

Helmut Lehmann (born March 2, 1918 in Jena ; † August 29, 2010 ) was a German mechanical engineer , director and board member of Buchtal GmbH in Schwarzenfeld and president of the German Ceramic Society .

Life

Helmut Lehmann was the son of Heinrich Lehmann .

After his release from captivity, he first did an apprenticeship as a locksmith at Ford in Cologne and then studied mechanical engineering. In 1955 he was appointed to the technical director at the side of Willy Lersch (1914-2006) in his function as commercial director. Together they led Buchtal to a leading company in the building ceramics industry and to one of the most important export companies in all of Eastern Bavaria. In 1975 he became President of the German Ceramic Society, an office that he held for twelve years. In 1984 he retired as a member of the Buchtal board.

Lehmann was in numerous clubs of the district Schwandorf committed, was also used two decades head of the hunting community Schwarzenfeld and 17 years as chairman of the county group Nabburg of the Bavarian Hunting Association , a founding member of the Tennis Department of FC Schwarzenfeld and driving force behind the founding of the golf and country clubs "Upper Palatinate Forest". Lehmann also founded the Rotary clubs Schwandorf and Amberg .

On the occasion of his death, the deputy district administrator and member of the Bundestag, Marianne Schieder (SPD), praised him as "one of the most influential entrepreneurs in the district". His urn was buried on the high seas at his request. His marriage to his wife Lieselotte, née Plate, had two children.
