Helmut Pick (* 1929 ; † September 24, 2006 in Munich ) was a German actor .

life and work

He saw his artistic focus primarily in the theater and in radio plays .

Pick, who was born in the Rhineland , was a member of the Münchner Kammerspiele ensemble from 1976 to 2001 , before he joined the Bayerische Staatsschauspiel in 2001 through a change in artistic director Dieter Dorn . Although he had a strong potential for leading roles, he mostly gave small and medium-sized roles with his concise to bizarre personality a special color, which made him an indispensable member of the ensemble. Of course, the eccentrics, the weird owls, the quirky loners and weird birds were his specialty. But each time the people he played on stage were meaningful in that he still suggested a second and third level behind their outer facade. Pick also appeared as a voice actor. So he lent u. a. Michel Serrault and Ian Richardson his voice.

On television he was named the father of Dr. Markus Paul Specht known in the series Our Teacher Doctor Specht . Fritz Bachschmidt played Specht's father Oswald, who was believed dead, in the first season. With Bachschmidt's death, Oswald Specht also died in the series. Later it turns out that it is not he, but his brother Alfons Specht's actual father. Helmut Pick plays Alfons Specht until the end of the series.
