Hemhof lies in the foothills of the Alps . The landscape was shaped in particular by the last ice ages. history
Early history
A little north of Hemhof, the Roman road from Salzburg to Augsburg, the Via Julia , crossed the Eggstätt-Hemhofer lake district . Several Roman finds are documented for the area around the place.
middle Ages
Probably in the 10th century on peninsulas in the Langbürgner See east of Hemhof the first castle complexes were built at the behest of a certain Hadamar.
Hemhof was first mentioned in a document in 1150 as Hemmenhoven.
A Hartmannsberg castle was first mentioned in a document in 1160 ( Zickenburg and Zinnenburg castle stalls ). At that time, the Counts of Falkenstein-Neuburg administered from here, among other things, the bailiwick of the Augustinian canons of Herrenchiemsee. The Codex Falkensteinensis , a famous manuscript from 1166, contains a stylized drawing of the castle. This representation can still be found today in a simplified form in the coat of arms of the Bad Endorf district of Hemhof.
In the 13th century the family of the Counts of Falkenstein-Neuburg died out. In their place in Hartmannsberg came the Wittelsbachers and in the 14th century the Freiherrn von Pienzenau .
Many goods in Hemhof belonged to the closed Hofmark Hartmannsberg.
Modern times
After the end of the Pienzenauer at Hartmannsberg Castle , the owners of the castle changed several times since the 18th century.
From 1818 onwards, Hemhof was a municipality that first belonged to the Trostberg regional court and then to the Prien regional court . The municipal area included the villages
- Brook ,
- Batterberg ,
- Daumberg ,
- Gifts ,
- Hartmannsberg ,
- Hemhof,
- Lviv ,
- Pelham ,
- Rankham ,
- Simple ,
- Stephanskirchen and
- Thal .
The construction of the railway line from Munich to Salzburg with the train station in Bad Endorf changed the relationship between Endorf and Hemhof. While Hemhof was previously more important, Endorf then experienced rapid development. Initially, the many craft and commercial businesses continued to exist in Hemhof. However, in the last few decades their number has decreased.
In the course of the regional reform , the municipality of Hemhof and the associated villages were added to Bad Endorf in 1978 .
politics
The last mayor of Hemhof was Georg Linner. He held the office from 1962 to 1978 on a part-time basis. The administrative work was done in a small municipal clerkship.
In the Bavarian state elections in 2013, the CSU received 51.6% of the total vote in the area of the former Hemhof municipality, the SPD 12.9%, the Free Voters 7.5%, Bündnis90 / Die Grünen 13.1%, and the ÖDP 4, 8th %. The other parties remained below 4%. Compared to the Bavaria-wide election result, the CSU, the Greens and the ÖDP performed significantly better, while the SPD and the Free Voters performed significantly worse.
