Hermann Dernburg

Hermann Dernburg (born October 16, 1868 in Darmstadt ; † September 15, 1935 in Zurich ) was a German architect .

Dernburg studied at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and at the Technical University (Berlin-) Charlottenburg and then initially worked as an employee in Alfred Messel's office . He later went into business for himself and designed numerous industrial and administrative buildings. His main works include the Berlin Sports Palace and the former Wertheim department store in Wroclaw.

  • 1909–1910: Sports hall, so-called " Sports Palace " in Berlin- Schöneberg , Potsdamer Strasse (not preserved)
  • 1909–1911: Rütgers-Haus , erected as the administration building of the Rütgerswerke in Berlin-Tiergarten, Lützowstrasse 33–36 (under monument protection)
  • 1910: Office and commercial building for Deutsche Gasglühlicht AG ( Auer-Gesellschaft ) in Berlin-Friedrichshain, Ehrenbergstraße 11-14 (under monument protection)
  • around 1910: Commercial building, so-called "Hohenzollern-Kunstgewerbehaus" in Berlin, Königgrätzer Straße (not preserved)
  • 1912: House for the widow M. Aye b. Dernburg in Berlin- Grunewald , Erbacher Strasse 4 (under monument protection)
  • 1912: Factory buildings of the Sarotti chocolate factory in Berlin- Tempelhof , Teilestrasse (under monument protection)
