Career

After training as a farmer , Hermann Fiedeler leased his father's manor in Döhren , who did not hesitate to “warn his son or even threaten to give him notice if he was in arrears with the lease”. But in the end the son achieved good yields by growing asparagus, cabbage, fruit and vegetables. In 1893/94 he was even able to afford the construction of a "white castle", a castle-like mansion with a tower (which was later destroyed by the air raids on Hanover in World War II). In addition, Fiedeler laid out a chestnut avenue leading to the building and a park that still exists today . After Hermann Fiedeler's death, the manor was liquidated from 1915 and the land and real estate there were sold until 1956.

As a citizen chief ( mayor ) was Hermann Fiedeler highly respected in Döhren, Fiedelerstraße and Fiedelerplatz remember to this day to him. Hermann Fiedeler was buried in the old Döhren cemetery , which was redesigned years ago into a small, listed park.
