Hermann Friedrich Wilhelm von Kemnitz (born September 8, 1826 in Magdeburg , † September 1, 1900 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German lawyer and Lord Mayor of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) (1871-1894).

With graduation of the rights Kemnitz was 1853 Counsel of the City of Frankfurt (Oder). After eight years in the city's magistrate , he became mayor . In 1871 he was elected Lord Mayor of the city. Kemnitz was re-elected in 1882 and was able to take up his second term until he retired in 1894. He is an honorary citizen of the city.

During his tenure, Frankfurt developed into an important military location through the construction of two barracks (artillery barracks (1876) and grenadier barracks (1879)). Furthermore, streets of the city were paved, a waterworks and the city sewer system, a slaughterhouse and the new cemetery were built. In 1892 the new Oder bridge was built.

Kemnitz was buried in the New Cemetery.
