Victor Ulrich Theophil Friedrich von Podbielski (born March 9, 1892 in Dallmin , Westprignitz district , † May 20, 1945 in Trebbin ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and Lord Mayor of Frankfurt (Oder) .

Victor von Podbielski came from the old noble family Podbielski as the son of Victor von Podbielski (1844–1916), the head of the Reich Post Office 1897–1901, and grandson of Theophil von Podbielski (1814–1879), a Prussian cavalry general . After attending school, which he finished with the Abitur at the humanistic grammar school in Plön in Holstein in March 1911 , he studied economics at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin from April 1911 to September 1913 . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War. He then worked as a farmer on his parents' estate Dallmin. Under the effects of the global economic crisis in 1929, he had to auction the property and another family property, Gut Kahrwe , two years later.

In 1930 Podbielski joined the NSDAP ( membership number 523.688). In February 1931 he was appointed district leader of the Dessau -Land district. In 1932 he became local group leader in Perleberg . Between 1934 and 1936 Podbielski was employed by the Gauleitung Mark-Brandenburg . Afterwards he became the Gaustabsamtsleiter there.

Podbielski was a member of the SS (membership number 293.718) and was a member of the staff of Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler from April 20, 1939 . In the SS, Podbielski achieved at least the rank of SS Oberführer .

On August 5, 1942, Podbielski joined the National Socialist Reichstag as a representative of constituency 14 (Weser-Ems) until the end of the Nazi regime, as a replacement for the late Reichstag member Carl Röver .

In addition, Podbielski was Prussian Provincial Councilor and Lord Mayor of Frankfurt (Oder) from September 12, 1943 until the end of the Second World War .

After Frankfurt (Oder) had been declared a fortress on January 26, 1945, the fortress commander Lieutenant General Hermann Meyer-Rabingen took over the command of the city. Podbielski, who had left Frankfurt with a Volkssturm unit in April 1945 , was seriously injured by shell fire near Glau . He succumbed to his injuries in the Trebbin prisoner-of-war hospital.
