politics

In 1989 Wolfgang Pohl became a member of the New Forum and was a member of the round table for them . He also successfully ran for mayor election for the New Forum. In 1998 he joined the SPD. Wolfgang Pohl was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from October 1990 to 1994 . At that time he was in the faction of Alliance 90 . In 2004 he was able to move into parliament again as a successor for the SPD. He moved into parliament for Reinhold Dellmann , who was appointed State Secretary of the Brandenburg Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning.

In the fourth legislative period (2004–2009) Wolfgang Pohl was a member of the Committee on Budgetary Control and from 2007 to 2009 chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs, of which he was a member. In the first electoral term he was a member of various committees: in the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry (1990 to 1991), in the Committee on Budgetary Control (1990 to 1991), in the Committee on Science, Research and Culture (1990 to 1994) as well as in 1991/92 in the investigation committee 1/1 (topic: On the behavior of the Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Transport Jochen Wolf in property matters).

In the state elections in 2009 , Pohl missed re-entry into the state parliament, he was unable to prevail against Axel Henschke in his constituency , nor could he move into the state list (29th place) and left the state parliament. On September 1, 2011, he moved up again to the state parliament after Reinhold Dellmann had resigned from his seat. Even in the state elections in 2014 , Pohl was unable to win a mandate because he failed in the constituency because of René Wilke and 29th place on the state list of the SPD was not enough for an entry. On August 1, 2018, he moved up again to the Brandenburg state parliament, as MP Daniel Kurth became district administrator in the Barnim district. In 2019 he left the state parliament.
