Hermann Schmitt (lawyer, 1863)
Hermann Schmitt (born November 8, 1863 in Würzburg , † September 19, 1943 in Hausham , Upper Bavaria ) was a German judge and ministerial official in Bavaria.
Life
Schmitt studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU). In 1884 he became a member of the Corps Bavaria Munich . After passing the state examination, he was an unskilled worker in the public prosecutor's office at the Würzburg district court (1890), III. Public prosecutor at the district court of Neuburg an der Donau (1891), district judge in Lichtenfels (1893) and Aschaffenburg (1894) and second public prosecutor at the district court of Augsburg (1897). After six years as a county magistrate at district court Amberg he came on 1 April 1905, the Regional Court of Bamberg , where he oversees the land registers led Oberlandesgerichtsbezirk Bamberg.
On November 16, 1908, he was drafted into the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice . From February 1, 1910, he was also a judge at the Bavarian Supreme Court . From 1911 to 1924 he was a part-time chairman of the legal examination committee at the LMU. At the beginning of the Munich Soviet Republic (on April 3, 1919) he became chairman of the legal examination commissions at the three universities of the Free State of Bavaria (Munich, Würzburg, Erlangen). Also part-time - with the title, rank and right of precedence of a ministerial councilor (1912) and a ministerial director (1919) - he sat on the land consolidation commission from 1912 to 1923. Since April 1, 1919 Secretary General of the State Ministry of Justice, he was appointed Ministerial Director on April 1, 1920 and on October 1, 1923 to the Bavarian State Council. At the age of 68, he retired on January 1, 1932.
