Hermann von Graevenitz

Hermann Georg Wilhelm Alexander von Graevenitz (born May 28, 1815 in Potsdam , † October 25, 1890 in Leipzig ) was a lawyer, judge and member of the German Reichstag .

Graevenitz was raised on his father's good Frehne in Ostprignitz and attended high school in Salzwedel and the Roßleben monastery school . He studied law and political science in Berlin and Bonn . In Bonn he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn in 1836 . In Berlin and Stettin he was a trainee lawyer , in 1843 he was appointed higher regional court assessor and in 1844 district court assessor in Franzburg . In 1849 he became a district judge in Greifswald and in 1852 a public prosecutor in Lübben . In 1853 he was transferred to Elbing in the same capacity , in 1857 he was promoted to the first public prosecutor in Danzig and in 1862 to the senior public prosecutor in Marienwerder , in 1870 he was appointed senior tribunal advisor and in 1879 advisor to the imperial court. In 1883, after 46 years of service, he was retired.

Graevenitz was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives in 1853 and 1854, and from 1855 to 1857 for the Conservative Party . As a result, he was a member of the Reichstag from 1877 to 1881. In 1881 he waived re-election for the legislative period from 1881 to 1884 because of his duties as a judge at the Reichsgericht and was re-elected from 1884 to 1890 for the constituency of Potsdam 2 (Ostprignitz).
