Himeshima ( Japanese 姫 島村 , - mura ) is a village community in Higashikunisaki-gun in the Japanese prefecture of Ōita .
geography
The village is located on the island of Himeshima north of the Kunisaki Peninsula .
Due to the large Heisei incorporation, in which the number of parishes in the prefecture fell from 58 to 18, Himeshima has been the only village parish ( mura ) in Ōita since March 31, 2006 .
economy
Because of its island location, the people live mainly from fishing and tourism. Caught plaice and sea bream .
education
There are two schools in Himeshima: Himeshima Elementary School and Himeshima Middle School.
