The high longhair near Hesselbach in the Odenwaldkreis is 548.3  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Odenwald and lies on the Baden-Württemberg - Hessian border. It forms the main part and the southern end of a forested mountain ridge about two and a half kilometers long to the south-north , which the Kolli ( 547.5  m ) closes in the northeast. The ridge takes its name from the steep eastern flank rising above Waldleiningen Castle ( 354.2  m ). To the west, on the other hand, the ridge slopes down with only a gentle slope towards the 485  m high village of Hesselbach.

The High Langhälde ranges in the north to the Three Countries stone , which the since 1837 the border triangle indicates where in our time the community Mudau in Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg, the community Kirchzell in the district of Miltenberg in Bavaria and the city Oberzent in Odenwaldkreis in Hesse collide.

The southern part of the Hohen Langhaele lies on the watershed between the Itter valley system in the west and that of the Mud in the east and thus also in the course of the Neckar-Odenwald-Limes , which roughly follows this watershed here.
