The Hohensteinerbach (with Haißbach ) is an almost 6.5 km long left and southeastern tributary of the Nidda in the Hessian Wetteraukreis .

The Hohensteinerbach arises from the confluence of the Haißbach and Buchborngraben east of the Michelnau district of Nidda .
Haissbach
The Haißbach is the 2.2 km long, northeast and right source stream. The name Haißbach comes more and more from usage, so that many people refer to the entire creek as Hohensteinerbach .
The Haißbach rises ( ⊙ ) at an altitude of about 370 m above sea level. NHN in the Heißbachgrund nature reserve of Michelnau , which is part of the FFH area forest areas south and southwest of Schotten . The source is in the corridor near the Eisenkauten in a narrow strip of green surrounded by mixed forest.
The stream flows southwest through the forest meadows of the nature reserve and joins in the corridor houses meadow at an altitude of about 370 m above sea level. NHN with the Buchborngraben.
Buchborngraben
The Buchborngraben is the 2.5 km long, southern and left source stream. It is also seen by many as a tributary of the Hohensteinerbach.

The unified Hohensteinerbach now flows almost a kilometer through mixed forest through the nature reserve, then passes the village of Michelnau. It is fed there in the village first on its left side from a meadow ditch and then on the other side from the Mörsbach .
