history

At the end of the 18th century, Holzhof with two properties is listed as part of the Zangenstein estate with the owner Anton Freiherr von Saur.

According to an ordinance of 1808, the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald was divided into 55 tax districts. Zangenstein formed a tax district with the villages of Altenhammer, Holzhof, Meischendorf and Schönau. At that time, Holzhof had 2 properties.

In 1809 Anton Freiherr von Saur held the Zangenstein patrimonial court . This included the villages of Zangenstein with 19 families, Meischendorf with 9 families, Altenhammer with 4 families, Mantlarn with 3 families, Holzhof with 2 families and Uckersdorf with 2 families.

In 1820 rural communities were formed. This created the rural community of Zangenstein, which consisted of the villages of Zangenstein with 19 families, Meischendorf with 8 families, Altenhammer with 4 families and Holzhof with 2 families.

As of March 23, 1913 (Easter), Holzhof was listed as part of the Altendorf parish with 2 houses and 11 residents. On May 1, 1978 the community of Zangenstein was incorporated into the community of Schwarzhofen. This brought Holzhof into the community of Schwarzhofen. On December 31, 1990 Holzhof had 5 residents and belonged to the parish Altendorf.
