The CBX 550 is a sporty motorcycle from Honda that was advertised as a sports tourer. It was only sold in Europe from 1982 to 1985. In Japan it was otherwise offered as the CBX 400.

It was available without a fairing (CBX 550 F) or with a half fairing (CBX 550 FII). The mid-range motorcycle has an air-cooled four-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine, 572 cm³, 60 HP (44 kW) at 10,000 rpm, 48 Nm at 8,000 rpm, carburetor, contactless transistor ignition, six-speed gearbox, air-assisted spring elements at the front and rear, and the "anti- Nose-Dive " . With a dry weight of 184 kg it is very light and offers good to very good performance.

A special feature are the encapsulated, internally ventilated disc brakes , in which better deceleration values are to be achieved even in wet conditions by using a cast disc, which is otherwise unusual in motorcycle construction due to its unsightly appearance.
