Honschaft Vilkerath
The Honschaft Vilkerath was from the Middle Ages to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries one of seven Honschaften the parish Overath in the court of Keppel Berg Office Steinbach .
The honor has been documented since the middle of the 13th century, the titular place of the honor was Hof Vilkerath . In 1794 the honor was assigned to the parish of Hohkeppel based on an order from the Archbishop of Cologne, Maximilian Franz of Austria . Due to municipal area reforms, the former honorary area is now located in the municipal area of Overath, Lindlar and Engelskirchen .
Places in the community were Ober- and Untervilkerath , Steinhaus , Aggerhof , Bengelshöhe , Ober- and Unterhasbach , Ober- and Unterheide , Krombach , Rott , Kleuelshöhe , Kreutzweg , Lehmshof , Weißenpferdchen , Ober- and Unterstaat and the part of Hohkeppels south of the main street through the place.
