The Honschaft Löderich (also in the spelling Loederich ) was from the Middle Ages to the turn of the 18th to the 19th century one of seven honors of the parish Overath in the court of Keppel of the Bergisch office Steinbach . The Honschaftsgebiet was between the Sülz and the Agger at the level of the Overather city center. Name- bearing places in the honors were Großlöderich and Schmitzlöderich . The honor was named after the Lüderich elevation on which the Lüderich ring wall was located.

The honor has been documented since the middle of the 13th century. Living places and places in the Honschaft were in addition to the titular places also (in contemporary spelling): Altenbrück , Birken , Büchel , Busch , Frielinghausen , Großdresbach , Großhorden , Heide , Heidermühle , Heiligenhaus , Katzemich , Kleindresbach , Kleinhorden , Kleinschwamborn , Mittelbech , Müllenholz , Nallingen , Neichen , Neuenhausen , Steeg , Steinenbrück , Teich and Unterbech .
