Kleinhurden is a district of Steinenbrück in the town of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

Location and description

The district of Kleinhurden is located on a ridge between the Sülztal in the north and the Holzbachtal in the south. In terms of natural space , it belongs to the Sülz plateaus . It is connected to local public transport by the RVK bus routes 425 and 440 . Places in the near are Müllenholz , Neuhurden , Busch and Steeg .

history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the residential area had two farmsteads as early as 1715, which are labeled as Huden . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as kl. Crouch . It shows that at that time the place was part of the Löderich family in the parish of Overath.

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1817 as Kl. Hurdles . The Prussian first recording from 1845 shows the residential area under the name of Kl. Hurden . As of the Prussian new admission in 1892, the place is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Kl. Hurden or Kleinhurden .

In 1822, 23 people lived in the place categorized as a courtyard and designated (small) hurdles , which after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement belonged to the Overath mayor in the Mülheim am Rhein district . For the year 1830, a total of 78 inhabitants are given for large and small hurdles . According to the overview of the government district of Cologne , the place categorized as Hof and designated Klein-Hurden in 1845 had five residential buildings with 29 inhabitants, all of them Catholic denominations.

The list of residents and livestock from 1848, according to which taxes were calculated, counted 21 residents in Kleinhurden, including eight children. She names the heads of the families, five of whom are farmers by profession: Peter Adolf Schiffmann Wittib , Wilhelm Steinbach, Franz Wichterich and twice Peter Dresbach. The wealthier Peter Dresbach owned 1 ox, 2 cows, 1 cattle, and 1 calf , Wilhelm Steinbach only had two cows. The inhabitants also included the merchant Peter Hasberg and an unnamed servant .

The municipality and district statistics of the Rhine province lists Kleinhurden in 1871 with seven houses and 37 inhabitants. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, eight houses with 38 inhabitants are given for Klein Hurden . In 1895 the place had seven houses with 32 inhabitants, in 1905 eleven houses and 52 inhabitants are given.
