history

Miebach was first mentioned in the 13th century as Meitbech .

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the living space had four farms as early as 1715, which are labeled as Miebach . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Miebach . It emerges from it that the place was titular place of the Honschaft Miebach in the parish of Overath at that time .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 as Untermiebach . The Prussian first recording from 1845 shows the residential area under the name Unter Miebach . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, the location is regularly listed as an Unt. Miebach or Untermiebach recorded.

In 1822, 43 people lived in the place categorized as Hof and designated Unter-Mibach , which after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement belonged to the Overath mayor in the Mülheim am Rhein district . For the year 1830 126 inhabitants are given for Ober- and Untermibach . In 1845, according to the survey of the government district of Cöln, categorized as a farm and designated as Unter Mibach , at that time it had eight residential buildings with 49 inhabitants, all of which were Catholic. The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine province lists Untermiebach in 1871 with ten houses and 37 inhabitants. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, nine houses with 33 residents are given for Unter Miebach . In 1895 the place had seven houses with 39 inhabitants, in 1905 seven houses and 37 inhabitants are given.
