Krampenhöhe is a district of Marialinden in the town of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

Location and description

Krampenhöhe is located in the east of Overath, south of Landwehr and Lorkenhöhe and is part of the Marialinden district , an old place of pilgrimage. Krampenhöhe mainly consists of single houses and homesteads. The source area of ​​the Kleiner Naafbach is located near the village .

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the residential area had four farmsteads as early as 1715, which are labeled as Krampenhöh . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Krampenhöhe . It shows that the place was part of the Honschaft Oderscheid in the parish of Overath at that time .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Krampenhöhe . The Prussian first recording from 1845 shows the residential area under the name Krampenhöh . From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is regularly recorded as Krampenhöhe on measuring table sheets .

The place was south of the Brüderstraße , an important medieval old highway from Flanders via Cologne to Leipzig , whose route in this section is now qualified as state road 360.

In 1822, 26 people lived in the place categorized as a courtyard , which after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement belonged to the Overath mayor in the Mülheim am Rhein district . For the year 1830 30 inhabitants are given for the place called Hof . The place, which was categorized as a farm in 1845 according to the overview of the government district of Cologne , had six houses with 33 inhabitants at that time, all of them Catholic faiths. In 1895 the place had seven houses with 40 inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish of Marialinden, in 1905 seven houses and 47 inhabitants are given.
