Bettenachen is a district of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

Location and description

Bettenachen is a small, agricultural hamlet on the Agger . From the castle , a narrow, sloping path leads to individual houses, barns and stables, some of which are made of mountain timber. The Aggertal is largely under nature protection and naturally belongs to the Marialinder Riedelland . Rare animals and plants can be found in the wetlands of Bettenachens and the surrounding forest areas.

history

In the original cadastre the place is referred to as Bettnagen . This suggests that the place name is one of the -hagen names.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the residential area had a courtyard in 1715, which is labeled as Berndenacher . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Bendenacher . It shows that the place was part of the Honschaft Burg in the parish of Overath at that time .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1817 as Betenachen . The Prussian first recording from 1845 shows the living space under the name Bettenagen . From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as bed matters .

In 1822 four people lived in the place categorized as Betenachen , which after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement belonged to the Overath mayor in the Mülheim am Rhein district . For the year 1830 no inhabitants are given for the place called Betenacken . The place, which was categorized as an isolated house in 1845 according to the overview of the government district of Cologne and designated as bedding , had at that time two residential buildings with eleven inhabitants, all of which were Catholic. From 1848 it has been handed down from Bettennachen that the farmer Jacob Fischer lived there with servants (44 people in total). He owned a horse, five cows, 1 cattle, a calf and two pigs, and the single day laborer Peter Wilhelm Friedrich, owner of a cow, lived there. The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Bettschen 1871 with a house and six residents. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, a house with 6 residents is given for bed things . In 1895 the place had a house with six inhabitants, in 1905 one house and four inhabitants are given.
