Rottfeld is a district of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Location and description

The agricultural, sparsely populated district can be reached from the center of Marialinden via the Alte Römerstrasse in the direction of the castle . The next places are Büscherhöfchen , Bettenachen , Höhe , Kirschbaum and Weißenstein . Rottfeld belongs to the tributary area of the Agger . The name Rottfeld refers to cleared fields .

history

The place was only created in the second half of the 19th century. From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is regularly recorded as Rottfeld on measuring table sheets .

The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Rottfeld 1871 with two homes and eight residents. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, two houses with three residents are given for Rottfeld . In 1895 the place has two houses with nine inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish Marialinden, in 1905 one house and five inhabitants are given.
