Kreutzweg was created in the second half of the 19th century at the intersection of today's L84 state road with the connecting road that branches off from federal road 55 at Rott in the Aggertal and leads via Oberheide , Bengelshöhe and Griessiefen to Kepplerburg . The national road 84 runs here on the ancient route of Heath Street , a major medieval Altfernstraße of Cologne via Kassel to Leipzig . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, the place is regularly recorded as Kreutzweg on measuring table sheets .
