Leyenhaus is a district of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

Location and description

The Leyenhaus location can be reached from the center of the old pilgrimage site of Marialinden via Kreisstraße 25 and Kreisstraße 34 , which is called Eulenthaler Straße here . The small residential area with modern single house development goes directly into the village of Eulenthal . For example, the small old people's home in Leyenhaus is called »Haus Eulenthal«. The nearest locations are Lölsberg , Broich , Halzemich and Blindenaaf . The area belongs to the headwaters of the largely nature-protected Naafbach , which has two streams in the Heckberg forest and also has underground springs. An extensive forest area connects Leyenhaus with the Agger and Gut Eichthal .

Leyenhaus was not built until the second half of the 19th century. As of the Prussian new admission in 1895, the place is regularly recorded on measurement table sheets as Leyenhaus .

The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine province list Leyenhaus 1871 with two houses and six residents. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, two houses with nine inhabitants are given for Leyenhaus. In 1895 the place had two houses with six inhabitants, in 1905 one house and five inhabitants are given.
