Horst Evers (born February 8, 1967 in Diepholz ; actually Gerd Winter ) is a German author and cabaret artist .

Life

Evers studied German and social studies at the Free University of Berlin without taking a final exam. During his studies he wrote his first texts, which he published in the magazine Salbader , which he co-founded , and which he later presented to the public himself. He processes small absurd incidents and observations from everyday life into pointed and humorous anecdotes or song texts. In order to suggest greater authorship to the readers of the Salbader magazine , the founders decided to work with various pseudonyms. Evers decided to use the Evershorst area near his birthplace Diepholz as a template and to swap the two parts of the name. Since he was particularly successful under this pseudonym, he kept it. In 1990 he founded the text reading show Dr. Strange morning pint .

Inspired by the Berlin administrative reform of 2001, Evers created a song cycle based on well-known melodies about the Berlin districts , which he sang about together with Benedikt Eichhorn . The original texts of the melodies used usually have a content-related relationship to the description of the respective district or are in stark contrast to it. For example, for the song on Spandau , a district on the western edge of Berlin , the melody from Petula Clark's Downtown was chosen.

For a number of years, short chapters read by Evers have been broadcast weekly in magazine programs on Radio Eins .

Evers lives in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
