geography

Hyenville is located south of the Cotentin Peninsula , about six kilometers west of the coast of the Gulf of Saint-Malo . The nearest town, Coutances, is three miles north of Hyenville. The neighboring communities were Orval (now: Orval sur Sienne ) in the north and east, Quettreville-sur-Sienne in the south, Hérenguerville in the south-west, Montmartin-sur-Mer in the west and Montchaton (now: Orval-sur-Sienne) in the north-west. The river Sienne delimited the flat 3.39 km² municipal area in the east, only a few meters above sea level. A few kilometers downstream, the Sienne forms its confluence with the Havre de Regnéville . The former parish of Hyenville is forestless and consisted mainly of pasture areas separated by hedges.
