Montmartin-sur-Mer is a French commune with 1,337 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Manche department in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Coutances and the canton of Quettreville-sur-Sienne (until 2015: canton of Montmartin-sur-Mer ). The inhabitants are called Montmartinais .
geography
Montmartin-sur-Mer is located about 34 kilometers west-southwest of Saint-Lô and south of the Cotentin peninsula at the mouth of the Sienne and the Gulf of Saint-Malo (English Channel). Montmartin-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities
- Regnéville-sur-Mer in the north,
- Orval sur Sienne in the northeast,
- Quettreville-sur-Sienne with Hyenville in the east and Hérenguerville in the southeast,
- Hauteville-sur-Mer in the south,
- on the other side of the estuary of Agon-Coutainville to the northwest.
