Hambye is a French commune with 1,150 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Manche department in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Coutances and the canton of Quettreville-sur-Sienne (until 2015: Canton Gavray ). The inhabitants are called Hambyons .
geography
Hambye is located about 22 kilometers south-southeast of Saint-Lô in the south of the Cotentin peninsula . The river Sienne limits the municipality to the south. Hambye is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Martin-de-Cenilly and Notre-Dame-de-Cenilly in the north, Le Guislain in the northeast, Maupertuis in the east, Percy-en-Normandie with Percy in the south and southeast, Gavray-sur-Sienne with Sourdeval-les-Bois in the south, La Baleine in the southwest and Saint-Denis-le-Gast in the west.
