Créances is a French commune with 2,137 inhabitants (2137) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Coutances and the canton Créances (until 2015: Canton Lessay ). The inhabitants are called Créançais .

geography

Créances is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Saint-Lô on the southern side of the mouth of the River Ay in the English Channel . Créances is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay in the north, Lessay in the east, La Feuillie in the southeast and Pirou in the south.
