It belongs to the Arrondissement of Coutances and the canton of Quettreville-sur-Sienne (until 2015: canton of Montmartin-sur-Mer ). The inhabitants are called Hautais .

geography

Hauteville-sur-Mer is about 36 kilometers west-southwest of Saint-Lô and south of the Cotentin peninsula, a little south of the confluence of the Sienne and the Gulf of Saint-Malo (English Channel). Hauteville-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montmartin-sur-Mer in the north, Quettreville-sur-Sienne with Hérenguerville in the east and Annoville in the north-west.
